Vikas Swaroop said that I think it is a strategic mistake from America that you are going to be in bed with Pakistan but it is already a bed with China. China is a competitive country of America.
He said that we have to look at America’s relations with Pakistan with different lenses than America’s relations with India. I think at the moment America’s relations with Pakistan will not last long as these relations are based on financial benefits. The family of Trump and Vitkoff has to invest in cryptocurrency in Pakistan. But America’s relations with India are more strategic.
On the move to impose 50 percent tariff on India, Swaroop said that if you negotiate with a bully, then Bully increases its demands. So I think we have done the right things. Our strategic autonomy has been the cornerstone of our foreign policy since the 1950s. I do not think any government in Delhi can compromise on this.
He said that Trump is a dealmaker and now he has made it his USP that he is a Peacemaker.
