This fair is held here every year from Falgun month Shukla Shashti to Baras. Devotees who glorify Shyam Baba are present not only in Rajasthan or India but in every corner of the world. Let’s know who is Baba Khatu Shyamji?
What is his story? Who is Khatushyamji: Khatu Shyamji is the Kalyugi incarnation of Lord Krishna. Ghatotkacha was the son of Bhima of Mahabharata and Barbarik was the son of Ghatotkacha. Barbarik is called Baba Khatu Shyam. His mother’s name is Hidimba. Story of Khatu Shyam: Barbarik was the best archer in the world. Only three arrows were enough for Barbarik, on the basis of which he could destroy the entire army of Kauravas and Pandavas. In the battlefield, Bhim’s grandson Barbarik stood under a Peepal tree at the middle point of both the camps and declared that he would fight on the side which would be losing. Krishna got worried by this announcement of Barbarik. When Arjuna and Lord Krishna appeared in front of Bhima’s grandson Barbarik to see the miracle of his bravery, Barbarik showed only a small sample of his bravery. Krishna said that if you pierce all the leaves of this tree with a single arrow, then I will agree. Barbarik took the order and released the arrow towards the tree. When the arrow was piercing all the leaves one by one, a leaf broke and fell down. Krishna hid it by placing his foot on that leaf thinking that it would avoid being pierced, but the arrow piercing all the leaves stopped near Krishna’s feet. Then Barbarik said that the Lord has pressed a leaf under your feet, please remove the feet, because I have ordered the arrows to pierce only the leaves and not your feet. Seeing this miracle of his, Krishna got worried. Lord Krishna knew that barbaric will support the loser with a promise. If the Kauravas are seen losing, then there will be trouble for the Pandavas and if the Pandavas are seen losing in front of Barbarik, then they will support the Pandavas. In this way he will destroy the army on both sides with a single arrow. Then Lord Krishna disguised as a Brahmin reached the gate of Barbarik’s camp in the morning and started asking for donations. Barbarik said – Ask Brahmin! What do you want? Krishna in the form of Brahmin said that you will not be able to give. But Barbarik fell into Krishna’s trap and Krishna demanded his head from him. Barbarik voluntarily donated his head for the victory of his grandfather Pandavas. Seeing this sacrifice of Barbarik, after the donation, Shri Krishna gave Barbarik the boon of being worshiped in his own name in Kaliyuga. Today Barbarik is worshiped in the name of Khatu Shyam. The place where Krishna kept his head is named Khatu. Unknown secret: 1. Khatu Shyam i.e. Mother Saivyam defeated:. That is, the one who gives strength to the defeated and disappointed people. 2.
